Special measures by Immigration Canada due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) – TRVs

With rapidly changing situation all over the world due to COVID-19, IRCC has introduced some measures on different type of applications:

TRV – Temporary residence applications (study , work , visitor visa)

  • IRCC is still processing the already submitted applications and they have not stopped accepting the new files
  • Processing times have been affected and online tool by IRCC might not reflect the correct processing times now
  • Immigration won’t refuse any application due to lack of documentation or if client is not able to complete the next steps (submitting biometrics or passports, PCCs , medical submission etc )
  • Biometric deadlines have been extended for 90 days for applicants who got affected by the service disruptions. You don’t need a new BIL – Biometric Instructions Letter
  • Most importantly, you can get full refund for your application if you withdraw your application with 24 hours of submission (as long as processing has not begun).
  • To withdraw your application you have to contact IRCC via Webform
