Canada government recently launched Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) for eligible Canadians and residents who got impacted by COVID-19. To apply for this and see if you are eligible Canada government has setup a site. You can either apply online or over the phone.
However, it has been noticed that some people have started receiving text messages on their phones that says something like; “Alert: The emergency response benefit of Canada relief fund has sent you a deposit” and then mentions an amount. This is scam message. Please do not respond or click on any provided links from this message. Delete this message to save yourself from losing your personal information and in worst case scenario your money.
