IMMIGRATION REFUGEE AND CITIZENSHIP CANADA(IRCC) will delay opening of 2020 parents and grandparents(PGP) program to accepting new applications until further notice.
The program was supposed to open in March 2020 but under the current circumstances government is more focused on dealing with COVID-19 pandemic.
The government of Canada is strongly committed to family reunification.This measure is temporary. IRCC is committed to open the program as soon as possible. Details of the opening of PGP program would be posted on IRCC website, once they are available.
It is important to note this deferral of PGP program is just temporary. The applications already in process from past year(s) will continue to be processed and when the PGP program opens attempts would be made to make no more delays in the process.
