23 March 2020: Updates on travel restrictions for Temporary residents travelling to Canada

On March 16th, Canada announced travel restrictions to protect Canadians and their families from the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Only Canadian citizens, permanent residents as well as some foreign nationals travelling from US ( who have been in US for 14 days and without any symptoms) are allowed to enter Canada by air travel.

Temporary workers, international students and approved permanent residents were put in exemption list but these exemptions are not in effect as of yet.

So, IRCC has advised Workers, students and approved permanent residents who haven’t landed should not travel yet. Travel restrictions are still in effect for these groups.
