US – Canada Border closed temporarily to non-essential travel

In order to contain the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), US & Canada has agreed not to allow travelers cross the border for recreational or tourism purposes.

People who cross the border each day to do essential work will not be affected such as long haul truck drivers. Supply chain will be maintained between both countries so that food, fuel, medicines can reach on either side of the border.

The timeline of these restrictions is not set and may stay in place as long as deemed necessary by both countries.

International students or temporary foreign nationals thinking of applying for B1/B2 visa for US should hold on to their plans until situation improves.
