Two “Ghost Consultants” Sentenced in Quebec

2 Ghost consultants were sentenced prison time of up to 18 months to 2 years for providing immigration services / advise to over 600 people. Rajinder Singh (Age 62) & Resham Singh (Age 50) were jointly accused in 2016.

A ghost consultant is someone who charges a fee for immigration services which they are not authorized to charge a fee for.

Both accused came to Canada as refugees themselves in 1990s and lived in Montreal. They were providing services such as translators and interpreters but also giving immigration related advice , even though they were not recognized consultants. They advertised their services in Punjabi Post; a newspaper for Indo-Canadian community.

Between 2010 & 2015 they acted in 631 files and 60 of them had false medical documents , which they helped to fabricate.
